Rajouri, October 2, 2025 – As the nationwide #SewaParv campaign nears its culmination on October 2, Day 15 unfolded in #Rajouri with a vibrant tapestry of selfless service, echoing the timeless ethos of “Rakht Daan Maha Daan” (Blood Donation is the Greatest Gift). Under the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the 16-day Sewa Parv initiative—from September 17 to October 2—has become a beacon of #InclusiveGrowth, fostering #Sustainability, #CommunitySpirit, and collective action for a #ViksitBharat.Directed by Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma and coordinated by District Nodal Officer Sandeep Sharma (District Social Education Officer), the day’s events spanned blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, awareness programmes, sports events, and plantation efforts. These activities not only celebrated service but also reinforced environmental stewardship and youth empowerment in underserved and remote geographies of Jammu & Kashmir.
Lifesaving “Rakht Daan Maha Daan” Blood Donation Camps Save Precious Lives
In a profound display of humanity, multiple blood donation camps were organized across Rajouri, aligning with National Voluntary Blood Donation Day. The Health Department, in collaboration with local institutions, mobilized volunteers to donate blood, emphasizing its role in emergency healthcare and community resilience. Over 100 units of blood were collected at key venues, including Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri and community health centers in blocks like Nowshera and Sunderbani.“Blood donation is the ultimate act of sewa—saving lives without expecting anything in return,” said a participating doctor from GMC Rajouri. These camps, held under the Swasth Nari Sakshat Parivar Abhiyan, saw enthusiastic participation from youth, women, and government employees, highlighting the campaign’s focus on #AffordableHealthcare and #21stCenturySkills for holistic well-being.
Cleanliness Drives and Plantation Initiatives Champion Sustainability
Echoing the Swachh Bharat Mission, extensive cleanliness drives swept through public spaces, educational institutions, and rural pockets. The Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and Municipal Council Rajouri led sanitation efforts at key sites like the MRF Plant in Ward No. 3 near Bela Bus Stand, where volunteers cleared waste and promoted waste segregation.Complementing these, plantation drives under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” saw hundreds of saplings planted at the Sericulture Complex in Solki and Livestock Development Centre (LDC) Batha. The Animal Husbandry Department organized a cleanliness drive at LDC Batha, followed by tree-planting sessions that instilled environmental consciousness among farmers and students. “From Rakht Daan to green daan, Sewa Parv is planting seeds of sustainability for future generations,” noted DC Sharma during a plantation event. These initiatives addressed challenges in hilly regions and aspirational districts, promoting #NEP2020-aligned eco-education and combating climate vulnerabilities in Jammu & Kashmir’s remote terrains.
Awareness Programmes Empower Communities with Knowledge and Schemes
Awareness programmes formed the intellectual core of Day 15, sensitizing residents on government schemes and sustainable practices. At Village Badi Darhal, the Animal Husbandry Department hosted a session on livestock care, departmental benefits, and modern farming techniques, benefiting over 200 farmers. The Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) at Sericulture Complex, Solki, spotlighted sericulture development schemes, blending awareness with hands-on demonstrations on silk production and eco-friendly livelihoods. Additional camps covered digital literacy via Common Service Centres (CSCs), maternal health under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), and financial inclusion through PM-KISAN and Kisan Credit Card (KCC) outreach. In line with #InclusiveGrowth, these programmes targeted Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas and aspirational districts, ensuring underserved communities in Bihar-inspired models gain access to #QualityEducation and skill-building for #21stCenturyEducation.
Sports Events and Youth Tournaments Fuel Energy and Unity
Infusing joy and vigor, sports events and youth tournaments galvanized communities, promoting fitness and anti-substance abuse messages. The Late Harinder Singh Rawat Memorial Cricket Tournament at Government Degree College (GDC) Thannamandi pitted local teams against each other, drawing crowds and reinforcing the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.Volleyball and kabaddi matches at GDC Nowshera and youth fitness drives under Mission Yuva engaged over 500 participants, blending recreation with life skills. “Sports under Sewa Parv build not just bodies, but unbreakable community bonds,” shared a young athlete from Sunderbani. These events, reminiscent of PM SHRI Schools’ holistic approach, empowered Balvatika-level children to older youth, fostering leadership in hilly regions and North Eastern-inspired inclusivity.
A Day of Sewa: Paving the Way for Lasting Change
Day 15 of #SewaParv in #Rajouri wasn’t merely an event—it was a movement celebrating service, sustainability, and community spirit. From the noble “Rakht Daan Maha Daan” to vibrant youth tournaments, these initiatives bridged urban-rural divides, aligning with CBSE and KVS standards for equitable growth. As Rajouri joins the national chorus, DC Abhishek Sharma urged continued participation: “Sewa Parv reminds us that true progress lies in collective action. Let’s carry this spirit beyond October 2.” With the campaign’s final day looming, Rajouri stands taller, greener, and more united— a testament to PM Modi’s vision of sewa as the cornerstone of a self-reliant India.
