Jammu, October 1, 2025: Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the functioning of the General Administration Department and evaluate the progress made under various administrative reforms and initiatives.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, and timely service delivery in the functioning of the GAD. He reviewed the status of implementation of e-office, online services, human resource management, vigilance clearances, and disposal of departmental cases.
Mr. Dulloo directed officials to further strengthen grievance redressal mechanisms and ensure faster processing of files through digital platforms. He highlighted that the General Administration Department plays a pivotal role in policy-making, governance, and coordination between different departments, and therefore, its efficiency directly impacts public service delivery.
The Chief Secretary stressed the need to accelerate administrative reforms and adoption of technology-driven solutions for better governance in the Union Territory. He also reviewed manpower management, transfer and posting processes, and steps taken for capacity-building of government employees.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of the GAD, who apprised the Chief Secretary of the progress achieved and challenges being faced in different areas of administration.
