Srinagar, September 27, 2025: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today graced the prestigious ‘Pride of J&K’ award ceremony organised by Network 18 Group in Srinagar, where he felicitated Army, NDRF, SDRF, J&K Police personnel, NGOs, and Civil Administration officials for their exceptional and selfless service during the recent natural catastrophe in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor said, “For Viksit Bharat and rapid growth, we must maintain ecological integrity and economic integrity. Securing biodiversity should become a national mission, and all sections of society must work together for protection, restoration, and regeneration of natural resources.”
The ‘Pride of J&K’ Awards honoured stalwarts and champions of Jammu and Kashmir who shaped the region’s development and stood as pillars of hope in times of crisis. The LG praised the awardees, noting that their heroism in rescue and relief operations under extremely dangerous circumstances offered hope and aid in the face of destruction. “Network 18’s initiative recognises their conspicuous courage and will inspire citizens to actively engage in community development,” he added.
Highlighting the commitment of the Union Government, Shri Sinha said that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Centre is determined to speedily revive J&K’s development momentum and restore normalcy. He further called upon citizens to support the police force and the army in the fight against terrorism and separatism.
“The ecosystem of separatist elements is now breathing its last. Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and all security agencies have been given a free hand to decisively crush terrorists and their sympathisers,” the Lieutenant Governor asserted.
The event was attended by Shri Brajesh Kumar Singh, Group Editor-Convergence, Network 18 Group, senior Army officers, civil and police administration officials, editors and members of Network 18 Group, NGO representatives, and prominent citizens from various walks of life.
