Kashmir , 27 September,2025- The Central Government has sanctioned 5,061 houses for Jammu and Kashmir under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) Special Project, aimed at providing affordable and sustainable housing for rural families.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Rural Development for the initiative, highlighting its significance in improving living standards and ensuring housing security for the underprivileged in the Union Territory.
LG Sinha emphasised that this move will not only address the housing needs of rural households but also generate employment opportunities through construction activities, thereby contributing to the overall socio-economic development of J&K.
The PMAY-G Special Project is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to achieve ‘Housing for All’, ensuring that every eligible rural family has access to safe, durable, and well-equipped homes.
