Kupwara, September 18,2025 : As part of the nationwide #SewaParv campaign, the Sheep Husbandry Department in Kupwara today organised extensive mass deworming and vaccination drives across multiple blocks of the district. The initiative aims at enhancing disease prevention and improving productivity of small ruminants, ensuring healthier livestock for local farmers.
Officials from the department emphasised the importance of timely vaccination and deworming to protect sheep and goats from common diseases, thereby contributing to the overall livelihood security of farmers in Kupwara. The drives are part of the department’s continuous efforts to promote animal health awareness and strengthen small ruminant management practices in the region.
Local beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that such programs not only safeguard livestock but also boost economic stability for rural households dependent on sheep and goat farming.
