An All-India Inter University Fencing (Men & Women) Championship 2022-23 was held in Jammu & Kashmir. The Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha welcomed all the fencers from around 100 universities in India. He said, there was a time when India ranked from the bottom in the medals table. Today the situation has changed. Even in the field of sports India’s talent has proved that they are no less than any other country. Addressing the assembled players, Shri Manoj Sinha said, Stop doubting yourself. Keep on moving ahead with determination and pursue the goal you want to achieve in your life. In your passion lies Jammu & Kashmir and India’s hidden aspirations. When you go one step ahead then the whole nation gathers courage to move forward ten steps, he said. I often tell my youth friends that the lessons we are taught in classrooms we tend to forget in 5-10 years. But the lesson learnt in the playground we remember lifelong. The same lesson shows the right path at every turn of life. Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav gives us a chance to understand our treasured heritage and convey its importance to the new generation, concluded Manoj Sinha.
