This will benefit us a lot, said apple growers in Kashmir about the start of the parcel train from Badgam. Some of our fruits get spoilt llike apricot, plums, etc. With the closure of the National Highways, the parcel trains will come handy in the quick distribution of fruits to different states before getting rotten. Freight will also be less and cost for fruit will also be less. For the first time, fruits like apples will travel on train and go to Delhi. Today, the courier service has started by train from Badgam, Jammu & Kashmir. As soon as the train is laden with fruits, it will start its journey. The Chief Area Manager Srinagar has taken special intetrest to commence this parcel booking service to Jammu & Delhi. This is a ggod step and in the coming days, it will bring happiness to fruit growers in Kashmir.
