Srinagar, 12 September ,2025 – The Indian Army has successfully concluded Exercise Siyom Prahar, a major field training exercise designed to validate the employment of drone technology in modern tactical operations. Organised under realistic battlefield conditions in a forward area of Arunachal Pradesh, the exercise marked a significant advancement in operational preparedness by seamlessly integrating drones across tactical and operational depths.The scope of drone employment spanned persistent surveillance and battlefield reconnaissance to target acquisition and precision strikes, highlighting the transformative impact of unmanned aerial systems on combat effectiveness. Defence officials emphasized that the initiative underscores the Army’s commitment to blending cutting-edge technologies with proven warfighting skills to address evolving challenges across the conflict spectrum.
A key focus of Exercise Siyom Prahar was the development and validation of new Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for future battlefields. This included innovative methods for fusing drone-generated intelligence with conventional firepower, streamlining joint targeting processes, and facilitating rapid decision-making in dynamic combat environments. The exercise also stressed the critical need for adaptability and synergy between traditional combat arms and technological enablers, such as secure communication channels and airspace deconfliction protocols.Troops demonstrated the operational utility of drones through simulated scenarios, showcasing their role in enhancing situational awareness and enabling precision engagements.
