Kupwara, September 7: A mega medical camp was organised at the Line of Control in Karnah, where more than 500 patients received free medical consultations, medicines, and healthcare services. The initiative, aimed at strengthening healthcare access in border areas, was widely appreciated by locals who often face challenges in reaching advanced medical facilities.
A team of specialist doctors and paramedics examined patients suffering from various ailments and provided them with on-the-spot treatment. In addition to free medicines, disability certificates were issued locally, saving residents the need to travel long distances for documentation and medical certification.
Officials highlighted that such camps are part of ongoing efforts to ensure inclusive and accessible healthcare in remote regions of Jammu and Kashmir. “Quality healthcare is our top priority, and we are committed to reaching every household, even in far-flung border villages,” said a senior health official present at the camp.
Residents of Karnah expressed gratitude for the timely initiative, stating that it not only addressed immediate medical needs but also built trust between healthcare institutions and the community.
With improved outreach and mobile healthcare facilities, authorities are working towards bridging the gap between rural and urban health infrastructure. The success of the Karnah medical camp has encouraged plans for similar initiatives in other border areas in the coming months.
