Srinagar, September 6, 2025: A delegation of the 35 Shaheed Singhs Welfare Organization, Chittisinghpora, led by Chairman S. Jagjeet Singh, today called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Srinagar.
The delegation demanded a fresh probe into the massacre of 35 Sikhs at Chittisinghpora, Anantnag, carried out by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists on March 20, 2000. They also raised various welfare issues of the next of kin of the martyred civilians, including compassionate appointments under SRO-43, extension of benefits at par with non-migrant Kashmiri Pandits, reservation in admissions in government universities and colleges, and financial assistance for the construction of a memorial at Chittisinghpora, Anantnag.
The Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed his government’s commitment to delivering justice to families affected by terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. He assured that a thorough inquiry would be conducted and justice will be served.
LG Sinha further stated that the grievances of the families of those martyred in the massacre will be addressed with utmost sensitivity and on priority. He assured compassionate appointments for eligible family members, as well as financial assistance for self-employment and rehabilitation measures.
The members of the delegation expressed gratitude to the LG for his assurance and urged timely redressal of their long-pending demands.
