Kulgam, September 6, 2025: Continuing his visit to flood-affected areas of South Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited Kulgam, where he interacted with families impacted by the recent floods. The CM assured residents that the government stands firmly with them and will extend all necessary support for relief and rehabilitation.
Later, the Chief Minister chaired a review meeting in Kulgam with district officers to assess the situation. He directed officials to ensure the swift restoration of roads, power supply, and essential services, alongside the strengthening of flood protection works. He further emphasized timely disbursement of relief assistance and close coordination among departments to provide an effective response.
Omar Abdullah also stressed the importance of preparing a long-term flood management plan, including the permanent restoration of damaged infrastructure to safeguard communities against future disasters.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, Minister Sakina Itoo, Minister Javed Ahmad Rana, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Sogami, and MLA Devsar Peerzada Faroz Ahmad Shah.
