The valedictory ceremony of the Viksit Bharat–Yuva Connect Programme at the University of Jammu became a vibrant celebration of youth leadership, vision, and national commitment. Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, addressing an audience of students, educators, and dignitaries, underscored the pivotal role of young citizens in realising the nation’s transformative goal of Viksit Bharat@2047. Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, the programme harnesses the My Bharat platform to empower the youth through dialogue, leadership development, and participatory governance. “The 21st century is India’s century—it is written in stone,” LG Sinha affirmed. “Under the leadership of honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is moving forward to regain its place as a world leader, and our young generation will make the greatest contribution to this journey.” He lauded the My Bharat platform as a dynamic bridge between policymakers and young citizens, encouraging the exchange of ideas, innovation, and civic responsibility. Calling the human mind “the greatest miracle and the most powerful force in the universe,” LG Sinha urged students to live their endeavours fully, embrace change, and keep alive the thirst for new dimensions of knowledge. The Lieutenant Governor also praised the University of Jammu for pioneering initiatives that help students realize their full potential. Stressing the importance of a global outlook in education, he reminded the audience of India’s immediate objective to become the world’s third-largest economy. He further encouraged educational institutions to integrate the vision of Viksit Bharat\@2047 into both academic and outreach activities. The four-day youth engagement festival featured competitions such as debates, poster-making, and the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament, all designed to inspire civic participation and policy awareness. Winners of these activities were felicitated by the LG, and participants took the Viksit Bharat Shapath, pledging their dedication to national progress. The event began with an inaugural ceremony graced by Justice (Retd.) Tashi Rabstan, former Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and civil society. The My Bharat platform’s ongoing initiatives, including padyatras and thematic youth parliaments, continue to strengthen patriotism, volunteerism, and leadership among young Indians. LG Sinha concluded by reiterating that the innovative ideas, aspirations, and courage of the youth will be instrumental in transforming Jammu and Kashmir, and India as a whole, into a developed nation by 2047.
