Srinagar, August 21, 2025 – Jammu and Kashmir’s Minister for Education, Health, and Social Welfare, Sakeena Itoo, chaired a significant meeting at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar to review developmental and educational initiatives. The meeting focused on enhancing the quality of education, improving infrastructure, and addressing public welfare concerns in the region.The agenda included discussions on key performance indicators such as learning outcomes, teacher performance, and the implementation of major educational schemes like Samagra Shiksha, PM-POSHAN (Mid-Day Meal), and the New India Literacy Programme (NILP). Minister Itoo emphasized the importance of accountability, transparency, and outcome-oriented strategies to ensure quality education across Jammu and Kashmir.
She directed officials to bridge learning gaps, strengthen digital learning resources, and expedite infrastructure projects, including the construction of 51 colleges across the region.In addition to education, the meeting addressed developmental concerns in the Hazratbal constituency, with a focus on healthcare, road connectivity, and civic amenities. The Minister called for efficient service delivery, optimal utilisation of public infrastructure, and timely completion of projects to address the needs of the public. She urged officials to work in synergy with local representatives to foster inclusive growth and ensure that public welfare remains a top priority.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including MLA Hazratbal Salman Ali Sagar, Secretary School Education Ram Niwas Sharma, Secretary Health and Medical Education Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, and other senior officers from relevant departments. Minister Itoo reiterated the Omar Abdullah-led government’s commitment to balanced development and effective governance.
