Srinagar, August 14, 2025: On the eve of India’s 79th Independence Day, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended his warmest greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. In a heartfelt message, he emphasized unity, patriotism, and the sacrifices of freedom fighters, urging citizens to honor the nation’s tricolor and contribute to a terror-free, prosperous Union Territory.“My dear brothers and sisters of Jammu Kashmir, on the sacred occasion of our 79th Independence Day, I convey my heartiest greetings and good wishes to all of you. This is a day we salute our tricolor and feel pride in watching it fly high in the sky,” the Lieutenant Governor stated. He paid homage to freedom fighters and martyrs, including those killed in the recent Pahalgam terror attack, and expressed condolences to families affected by the Chashoti cloudburst in Kishtwar.
Highlighting the contributions of the armed forces, Jammu Kashmir Police, and security agencies, Sinha praised their role in maintaining peace and enabling progress. He specifically lauded “Operation Sindoor” and “Operation Mahadev” for their success in countering terrorism. “India has drawn a new red line. Any act of terror will be considered an act of war, and we will give a fitting response,” he affirmed, calling for a collective pledge to dismantle the terrorism ecosystem.The Lieutenant Governor also celebrated the socio-economic growth of Jammu and Kashmir, crediting farmers, workers, teachers, youth, and women for their contributions to building a “Viksit Bharat.”
He noted the success of the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan, with widespread participation in the Tiranga Yatra, reflecting the region’s patriotic fervor. Sinha highlighted developmental achievements, including rail connectivity from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, industrial growth, and empowerment of women, youth, and farmers.Reflecting on Mahatma Gandhi’s vision, Sinha reiterated his commitment to building a Jammu and Kashmir where every citizen feels included in the nation’s progress. “Let us reaffirm our commitment to work shoulder to shoulder and build a Viksit Bharat,” he concluded, ending his message with “Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!”The Lieutenant Governor’s greetings underscore themes of patriotism, unity, development, and resilience, inspiring the people of Jammu and Kashmir to contribute to nation-building on this historic occasion.
