SRINAGAR, August 12, 2025 – Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha praised the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army, and CRPF for their swift and decisive action in avenging the deadly Pahalgam terror attack. Speaking in Srinagar, Sinha congratulated the forces for their role in Operation Mahadev and Operation Sindoor, which neutralised key terrorists responsible for the April 22, 2025, attack in Pahalgam’s Baisaran Valley that claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists.“Operation Mahadev, executed on July 28, 2025, successfully eliminated three hardcore Pakistani terrorists—Suleman Shah alias Faisal Jaat, Hamza Afgani, and Jibran Bhai—who orchestrated the heinous Pahalgam attack,” Sinha said, as per a post by @OfficeOfLGJandK. “The nation is proud of our armed forces for scripting a historic victory saga, ensuring the safety of our citizens,” he added.Sinha emphasized that these operations mark a decisive shift in India’s fight against terrorism, with the armed forces now hunting terrorists “one by one” and treating future acts of terror as acts of war. He reiterated the government’s resolve to rid J&K of terrorism and restore peace, directing officials to ensure citizen safety and relocate villagers from vulnerable areas. The Pahalgam attack, described as the deadliest in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike, prompted widespread condemnation and a high-level security review led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
