Srinagar, August 8, 2025 – Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) organized the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Programme, a dynamic pre-event leading up to the national launch by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 12, 2025. Held under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Nazir Ahmad Ganai, the event aimed to engage youth in nation-building and promote a drug-free society.
Chaired by Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education, Shantmanu, the programme saw active participation from Director Education, Director Extension, Deans, Faculty Coordinators, Student Welfare Officers (SWOs), and students across various SKUAST-K colleges. The Yuva Samvad session sparked vibrant debates on policy-making, encouraging youth to contribute innovative ideas toward India’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.Shantmanu led a pledge ceremony, outlining steps for achieving a developed India, while Professor S.A. Gangoo, Dean of Students Welfare, highlighted the university’s 10-day pre-event activities, including slogan writing, poster presentations, and debates.
Professor Ganai emphasized SKUAST-K’s roadmap for national development, underscoring the importance of a healthy, fit nation and commending the efforts of students and organizers.Students were felicitated for their outstanding performances in various competitions, reinforcing the programme’s focus on youth empowerment, civic engagement, and social responsibility. The event, aligned with the national Viksit Bharat@2047 initiative, showcased SKUAST-K’s commitment to fostering leadership and innovation among Jammu & Kashmir’s youth.
