Jammu, August 3, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today addressed the valedictory event of the Viksit Bharat-Yuva Connect Programme at the University of Jammu, underscoring the pivotal role of youth in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. The programme, aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s transformative vision, leverages the My Bharat platform to foster youth empowerment, dialogue, and active participation, bridging the gap between young citizens and policymakers.In his address, LG Sinha emphasized that the initiative aims to empower youth to become informed and action-oriented citizens, driving Jammu and Kashmir’s growth and contributing to India’s ambition to become a global leader.
“The 21st century is India’s century. It is written in stone. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is moving forward to regain its position as a world leader, and our young generation will make the greatest contribution in this journey,” he said.The Viksit Bharat-Yuva Connect Programme, organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, is designed to harness the innovative ideas, dreams, and aspirations of the youth to catalyze societal transformation.

LG Sinha highlighted that the My Bharat platform serves as a dynamic tool to promote participatory governance and leadership development, enabling young citizens to engage directly with policymakers and contribute to nation-building.“The human mind is the greatest miracle and the most powerful force in this universe, and our youth can utilize this strength to achieve the goal of building Viksit Bharat. To create a developed India, you must live your endeavors to the fullest, chart the path of the future, and keep alive the thirst for new dimensions of consciousness,” LG Sinha urged the youth.
The Lieutenant Governor lauded the University of Jammu for its revolutionary initiatives in enabling students to realize their true potential. He called upon educational institutions to adopt a global approach to education to keep pace with rapid changes and emphasized India’s immediate goal of becoming the world’s third-largest economy. During the event, LG Sinha felicitated winners of pre-activities under the programme, including debates, poster-making competitions, and the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament, which encourage civic participation and policy discussions.
The Viksit Bharat Shapath, a pledge affirming commitment to national progress, was also administered.Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu, provided a detailed overview of the pre-activities organized under the programme, highlighting its role in integrating the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 into academic and outreach initiatives. The four-day youth engagement festival, which commenced with an inaugural ceremony featuring Justice (Retd.) Tashi Rabstan, Former Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and civil society.
The My Bharat platform, a cornerstone of the programme, is an online youth leadership and social engagement platform that connects young individuals with opportunities in industry, government, and non-profits. It facilitates initiatives like the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament and padyatras to commemorate national days, fostering patriotism and civic responsibility among the youth.
LG Sinha reiterated that the innovative ideas and inclination for change among the youth will play a crucial role in transforming Jammu and Kashmir and India at large. The event, attended by senior officials, faculty, and students, marked a significant step toward empowering the youth to lead India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation by 2047.
