Srinagar, August 1, 2025 — Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed officers of the 54th Higher Command Course from the Army War College, Mhow, during their visit to the Northern Front. The interaction focused on contemporary geo-political and geo-strategic issues, counter-terrorism strategies, and the whole-of-government approach to dismantle the terror ecosystem in the region.
Speaking at the event, LG Sinha emphasized the critical role of a coordinated strategy in achieving peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the transformation in the Union Territory, crediting the improved security situation to the resilience of its people and the effectiveness of security forces. “It is my firm belief that peace is a prerequisite for progress and prosperity. We have been successful in dismantling the terror ecosystem and measures have been taken to sustain peace and stability,” Sinha stated.The Lieutenant Governor congratulated the officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force for their dedication to safeguarding the nation’s unity, integrity, and sovereignty.
He urged them to intensify efforts to eliminate every terrorist and terrorist organization threatening the safety, security, and prosperity of citizens. “I had a wonderful discussion on contemporary geo-political and geo-strategic issues besides our counter-terrorism strategy and whole-of-government approach to dismantle the terror ecosystem,” Sinha shared in a post on X.The visit, hosted by the Northern Command in Udhampur, included a detailed briefing by Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command. The session covered operational, logistical, and strategic challenges in the northern theatre, a region critical due to its borders with Pakistan and China.

The interactive discussion underscored the importance of joint operations and inter-service coordination to address complex security challenges.LG Sinha reiterated the need for a 360-degree approach to counter-terrorism, emphasizing improved intelligence generation, coordination, and precision in anti-terror operations. He also highlighted the progress made in reducing local recruitment into militancy, noting that only one such incident occurred this year compared to 150–200 in previous years.The event reflects the ongoing commitment of the J&K administration and security forces to neutralize terror networks and ensure a secure environment for development. Sinha’s address aligns with recent efforts, including the dismissal of government employees linked to terror activities and intensified operations following attacks like the Pahalgam incident earlier this year.
