Srinagar, July 28 — In a vibrant display of fitness, discipline, and patriotism, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Srinagar Sector today organised a Cycle Campaign from Lal Chowk to SKICC, under the Fit India Movement—a flagship initiative of the Khelo India scheme by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from CRPF officers and personnel, who pedaled with determination, cheered on by citizens along the route. The campaign aimed to promote physical fitness, raise awareness about a healthy lifestyle, and build stronger community ties through active participation.
“Fitness is not just personal—it’s national. A fit force means a stronger nation,” said a CRPF officer who joined the rally from the front.
The ride started at Lal Chowk, the heart of Srinagar, and concluded at the scenic SKICC overlooking Dal Lake, symbolising a journey of unity, health, and resolve. The cyclists carried the Tricolour, adding an emotional and patriotic touch to the campaign, especially as the nation prepares for Independence Day.
Locals along the route stopped to applaud the personnel. “It was inspiring to see our CRPF jawans cycling with such energy. They protect us—and now they are motivating us to stay fit too,” said Asif Ahmad, a college student who joined the rally midway.
The CRPF has been regularly engaging in community welfare and nation-building activities beyond their core mandate of security, and this initiative underlines their commitment to the holistic well-being of both the force and the public.
