Srinagar, July 28 — Under the dazzling lights and roaring cheers of local football fans, United Elegant FC secured their place in the grand finale of the Khyber Cements Kashmir Super League 2025, defeating Aqua Kashmir Avengers in a dramatic 2–1 showdown.
The high-stakes semi-final match, played at the TRC Turf Ground in Srinagar, was a true testament to the rising standard of professional football in Jammu and Kashmir, drawing hundreds of spectators and social media attention from across the Valley.
United Elegant FC took an early lead in the first half with a stunning free-kick from Mehraj Bhat, who was later named Man of the Match. The Avengers fought back fiercely, equalising in the 55th minute through striker Umar Farooq, keeping the crowd on edge.
But the decisive moment came in the 83rd minute, when substitute Faizan Wani struck a powerful volley past the keeper, sending United Elegant fans into a frenzy and sealing their passage into the final.
“It was more than a match — it was a battle of nerves. I’m proud of my boys for keeping their composure and delivering when it mattered most,” said the head coach of United Elegant FC.
Aqua Kashmir Avengers, known for their consistent performance throughout the tournament, showed grace in defeat, congratulating their rivals and vowing to come back stronger next season.
“We gave it our all. Credit to United Elegant — they played smart football tonight,” said Avengers captain Asif Lone.
Organised under the banner of Khyber Cements Kashmir Super League 2025, the tournament has become a celebration of local football talent, bringing together clubs from across Jammu and Kashmir and providing a professional platform for young athletes to shine.
