Jammu, July 18 — Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has lauded the exemplary service being provided by AIIMS Jammu, expressing pride in how the premier healthcare institution is catering to patients from across the country.
During a recent visit to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jammu, the Chief Minister interacted with patients and medical staff, acknowledging the institute’s growing role in transforming Jammu into a hub for advanced medical care and specialized treatment.
“It’s heartening to see AIIMS Jammu extending quality healthcare not just to residents of Jammu & Kashmir, but to patients from all parts of India,” CM Omar said. “This symbolizes a new chapter of inclusive development and world-class infrastructure in the region.”
He appreciated the dedication of the doctors, nurses, and support staff, noting that the inflow of patients from states like Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, and Bihar is a testament to the trust and reputation AIIMS Jammu has built in a short span.
CM Omar further emphasised the government’s commitment to strengthening health infrastructure, ensuring better patient care, and supporting medical education and research through sustained investments and capacity building.
Health department officials accompanying the CM stated that AIIMS Jammu has seen a sharp rise in OPD registrations, emergency cases, and complex surgeries, with over 2 lakh patients served in the past year alone.
The visit concluded with the Chief Minister inaugurating a new oncology ward and reviewing proposals for expansion in pediatric and cardiology services.
