In a landmark stride towards youth empowerment and economic revival, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha inaugurated and addressed the Mega Job Fair 2025, held at Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Organized by Cluster University of Jammu in collaboration with Desh Bhagat University, Punjab, the event witnessed participation from 57 reputed national companies, offering diverse employment opportunities to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. In his keynote address, LG Manoj Sinha lauded the collaborative efforts of the two universities for creating a dynamic platform that bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world employment. “This job fair is not merely an event, but a mission to empower our young generation and enable them to actively participate in building Viksit Jammu Kashmir and Viksit Bharat,” he said, reinforcing his commitment to creating a self-reliant and aspirational youth force in the region. With 3,759 candidates registered, the Mega Job Fair marked a remarkable response, highlighting the growing interest of private industry in tapping into the talent pool of J&K. LG Sinha personally handed over job offer letters to several successful candidates and also distributed AICTE approvals for BBA and BCA courses to Cluster University Jammu—underscoring the administration’s dual focus on education and employability. Demonstrating the government’s proactive efforts toward employment generation, LG Manoj Sinha cited successful examples under the New Industrial Policy, such as Atomic North Private Limited’s BPO in Kathua, which currently employs 375 local youth and is set to scale up to 1,000. He urged the company to consider establishing a similar unit in Udhampur, and announced that JSW Group is planning to set up a BPO in Jammu, further expanding job prospects in the Union Territory. The Lieutenant Governor further highlighted the transformative reforms implemented under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which align education with industry demands and attract private investment. He shared that industries in J&K have availed Rs 28,400 crore in incentives under the New Industrial Development Scheme, while projects worth Rs 45,000 crore have either been completed or are underway—signaling a new era of industrialization and trade expansion in the region. Also present at the event were Prof. K.S. Chandraseker, Vice Chancellor of Cluster University Jammu; Dr. Sandeep Singh, President of Desh Bhagat University, Punjab; Dr. Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of GCW Gandhi Nagar; along with representatives from various companies and academic institutions.
