Jammu, July 01, 2025: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, to assess preparations for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025, ensuring a smooth and spiritually enriching experience for pilgrims. The 38-day pilgrimage, starting July 3, 2025, from the Pahalgam and Baltal routes, will be flagged off by the Lieutenant Governor on July 2 from Yatri Niwas and conclude on August 9, 2025. Over 3.5 lakh devotees have registered to visit the sacred Amarnath Cave at 3,880 meters, home to the revered ice Shivling.During his visit, LG Sinha reviewed arrangements for food, lodging, security, registration counters, power, water supply, health services, help desks, sanitation, transportation, and emergency services. He met with pilgrims of Baba Barfani, extending wishes for a safe and blessed journey. Speaking to the media, he noted the arrival of devotees from across India, calling the Yatra a serene and transformative experience. He emphasized enhanced facilities and the need to uphold Jammu and Kashmir’s traditions for a successful pilgrimage.The Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board has enforced measures like mandatory RFID tracking, compulsory health certificates, and convoy-only travel, banning private vehicles. Security includes 580 companies of personnel, facial recognition on the Pahalgam route, and K-9 squads along the Jammu-Srinagar Highway. Sanitation efforts feature 5,600 toilets and bathing units, 7,361 workers, and 15 waste processing centers for a zero-waste Yatra. A traffic advisory for July 2 outlines convoy timings on NH-44, with alternate routes like the Mughal Road for essential goods. Mock drills for landslides and floods ensure disaster readiness.
