Bishnah, Jammu, June 15, 2025 – Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended a commemoration event in Bishnah, Jammu, celebrating the life and teachings of Sant Kabir, the revered 15th-century mystic poet and spiritual master. The event highlighted Kabir’s timeless philosophy of Sarva Dharma Sambhava (co-existence of all faiths), emphasizing unity, brotherhood, and social harmony as the cornerstone of humanity.
Sant Kabir, an epitome of spiritual enlightenment and a unique figure in India’s saints’ tradition, dedicated his life to fostering equality and respect across all sections of society. His teachings, embodying purity of heart, awareness, and bliss, transcend religious boundaries, serving as a confluence of ideologies where diverse paths of worship merge. LG Sinha, in his address, described Kabir as the fragrance of India’s eternal values and a symbol of the nation’s cultural heritage.
“India has been a home to seekers from different religions for centuries. This spirit of brotherhood and religious diversity is our strength,” LG Sinha stated, urging citizens to embrace Kabir’s teachings to promote equal respect for all faiths and communities. He emphasized the need to preserve India’s ancient values, Sanskar, and knowledge system, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, to strengthen the region’s social fabric.
LG Sinha called for concerted efforts to instill these values in the younger generation, stating, “We must reach out to every citizen in J&K and reinforce Sant Kabir’s teachings to nurture a society rooted in social harmony and mutual respect.” The event underscored the administration’s commitment to fostering unity and combating divisive narratives, aligning with Kabir’s vision of a harmonious society.
The commemoration served as a powerful reminder of Sant Kabir’s enduring legacy as a mystic saint whose message continues to inspire humanity to rise above divisions. Attendees, including local leaders and community members, pledged to uphold India’s tradition of co-existence and cultural diversity, inspired by Kabir’s profound wisdom.
