Reserved categories such as SC/ST/RBA/OBC can apply up to the age of 43, while the limit is 48 years for ex-servicemen.
The total of 508 vacancies is divided between the Public Works (R&B) Department with 150 posts and the Jal Shakti Department with 358 posts. The positions are offered under pay level 6, ranging from ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400 per month. Application fees are set at ₹600 for the general category and ₹500 for candidates from SC/ST/EWS and PwBD categories.
Only candidates who are domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir are eligible to apply for these roles. The JKSSB has advised all applicants to carefully review the eligibility criteria and complete the application process well before the closing date to avoid any last-minute issues. This recruitment drive is seen as a significant opportunity for civil engineering graduates and diploma holders in the region, especially at a time when the government is focusing heavily on developmental projects and employment generation.
