Srinagar, May 08, 2025: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting to assess the security situation in Jammu Kashmir, focusing on physical infrastructure, public safety, and cybersecurity. Attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, and senior officials, the meeting reviewed actionable measures taken since May 06.
LG Manoj Sinha directed officials to remain vigilant, deal sternly with attempts to disrupt public order, and curb fake news and disinformation. He emphasized seamless coordination among civil administration, police, and armed forces. Deputy Commissioners and SSPs were instructed to visit vulnerable areas, engage with locals, and address their needs.
The LG stressed preparedness for emergencies, effective execution of evacuation plans, and ensuring facilities at shelter centres. Divisional Commissioners were tasked with continuous public engagement, while district officers were directed to prioritize safety and medicare in border areas.
Highlighting recent security achievements, LG Sinha noted the armed forces’ success in neutralizing terror threats, including an attempted attack on military targets on May 07-08, 2025. He urged unified efforts to tackle ongoing challenges.
