Srinagar, April 30, 2025 – The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education is set to announce the Class 12 results for the 2025 academic session today by 2 PM, bringing relief to over 93,000 students from Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh who appeared for the examinations. The results, covering Arts, Commerce, Science, and Home Science streams, will be available on the official websites, jkbose.nic.in and jkresults.nic.in, amid heightened anticipation following a brief accidental leak of results yesterday.
The JKBOSE Class 12 examinations were conducted in two zones to accommodate the region’s diverse geographical challenges. Soft zone areas, primarily in Jammu and Kashmir divisions, held exams from February 15 to March 17, 2025, while hard zone areas, including remote regions, conducted exams from February 20 to March 24, 2025. The board’s segregation ensures logistical feasibility for students in harsher weather conditions. To pass, students needed 33% in General English and 36% in each of their four elective subjects, with subjects involving practicals requiring 36% in both theory and practical components.
“The test was being run on the site, which is why some students were able to view the result. The technical team was checking the servers,” an official stated, urging patience until the official release today. Students can access their provisional mark sheets using their roll number and registration number, with original certificates available from schools shortly after.
The results follow a rigorous evaluation process, with the board ensuring timely declaration despite challenges like the ongoing heatwave in Srinagar and security concerns in the region. Last year, the Class 12 results, announced on June 6, 2024, saw a 74% overall pass percentage, with girls outperforming boys at 77% compared to 72%. This year’s results are expected earlier, reflecting JKBOSE’s commitment to efficiency.
Students dissatisfied with their scores can apply for re-evaluation, provided they scored at least 20% in the subject, with a fee of Rs 495 per answer script. Supplementary exams for those failing to meet the passing criteria are scheduled for July 2025, with results expected in September. The announcement marks a pivotal moment for students planning their higher education or career paths in a region striving for academic resilience.
