Ramban, April 24, 2025: Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Gool has established a dedicated Help Desk at Sangaldan Railway Station to assist tourists arriving by train. Additionally, a Medical Assistance Counter has been made operational at the station premises to provide immediate healthcare support to visitors.
The Help Desk is designed to offer guidance and support to travelers, addressing queries related to local attractions, transportation, and accommodations. The Medical Assistance Counter, staffed with trained personnel, will provide first aid and emergency medical services to ensure prompt care for any health-related issues faced by tourists. These measures reflect the district administration’s commitment to promoting tourism in Ramban, particularly with the improved connectivity brought by the Katra-Banihal railway section, which includes Sangaldan Railway Station.
The development follows the successful speed trial conducted by Northern Railway on the Katra-Banihal section in January 2025, which has boosted accessibility to the region. Local residents have expressed optimism about the rail link, noting that it will facilitate easier travel to Udhampur and Jammu, further positioning Sangaldan as a key transit point for tourists exploring Jammu and Kashmir.
DC Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary’s proactive approach has been lauded, especially in the wake of recent challenges in Ramban, including flash floods and landslides that caused significant damage in April 2025. The administration’s swift response to both disaster relief and tourism enhancement underscores its focus on resilience and development.
