Srinagar, April 24, 2025: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, reaffirming the Central Government’s resolve to dismantle the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, chaired a high-level security review meeting at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar on Wednesday. The meeting, attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, and senior officials from the civil administration, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and intelligence agencies, focused on bolstering security measures in response to the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack.
LG Manoj Sinha emphasised that the Centre, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is committed to eradicating terrorism and ensuring lasting peace in the region. He directed security forces to intensify anti-terror operations, enhance intelligence-gathering, and execute precise measures to neutralise terrorist networks. The LG condemned the Pahalgam attack, which claimed lives and injured several tourists, vowing that the perpetrators would face stringent action.
The meeting reviewed ongoing search operations in Pahalgam and assessed the security grid in vulnerable areas like Kulgam and Baramulla, where recent encounters have occurred. Sinha also stressed the importance of protecting civilians and visitors, particularly with the upcoming Amarnath Yatra and increased tourist footfall. The discussions aligned with Shah’s recent directives during his April 22, 2025, meeting with the LG, reinforcing a coordinated strategy between the Centre and the Union Territory administration.
