Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, April 18, 2025 – A certificate distribution ceremony took place at the District Mission Management Unit in Srinagar to honour Self-Help Group members from District Srinagar who successfully completed a two-month training program in the Hospitality Service Sector. The initiative, a collaborative effort between the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission and Honda India’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, aimed to empower rural women with skills for sustainable livelihoods.
The training program equipped participants with essential hospitality skills, including customer service, housekeeping, and food and beverage management, preparing them for employment opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir’s growing tourism sector. The JKRLM, under its UMEED initiative, has been instrumental in fostering women’s entrepreneurship by providing training and market linkages, while Honda India’s CSR support underscores its commitment to community development and skill-building.
During the ceremony, certificates were awarded to the trainees, recognising their dedication and newly acquired expertise. The event highlighted the transformative impact of such programs on rural women, enabling economic independence and contributing to the region’s socio-economic growth.
