Kathua, April 15, 2025 – In a significant stride toward industrial development, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha virtually inaugurated the manufacturing unit of Superior Polymers India Pvt Ltd in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. The greenfield project marks a milestone in strengthening the Union Territory’s manufacturing ecosystem, aligning with the mission of Aatmanirbhar J&K (self-reliant Jammu and Kashmir).
The state-of-the-art facility, established by the Superior Group of Industries, is set to enhance local production capabilities and contribute to economic growth. During the inauguration, LG Sinha congratulated the company, emphasizing that the unit’s commencement will have a “positive impact on the local economy and employment generation.” He highlighted the progressive industrial policies and key interventions over recent years that have bolstered investor confidence in J&K.
“This project dedicated to industrial development will give momentum to the mission of Aatmanirbhar J&K,” Sinha stated, underscoring the UT administration’s commitment to advancing the industrial sector under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The manufacturing unit is expected to create numerous job opportunities, empower local communities, and support the region’s skilled workforce, including marginalized sections.
The event saw the presence of key dignitaries, including Vikramjit Singh, Commissioner Secretary of the Industries and Commerce Department; Dr. Arun Kumar Manhas, Director of Industries & Commerce, Jammu; and Rakesh Minhas, Deputy Commissioner of Kathua. Representatives from Superior Polymers India Pvt Ltd, including Chairman Pradeep Agrawal, Vice Chairman Vishal Agrawal, CEO Ashish Sethi, and Chief Human Resource Officer Dr. Sunil Kumar Mishra, also attended, reflecting the collaborative effort behind the venture.
The Kathua manufacturing unit is part of a broader push to transform Jammu and Kashmir into an industrial hub. LG Sinha noted that the UT’s manufacturing ecosystem is expanding rapidly, with initiatives like this reinforcing J&K’s role in India’s self-reliance goals.
