I had taken training last month in Haryana and now I am working in the Veterinary field, said AB Rehman Dar of Ward No 6 Kakapora village in Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir. This month FMD (Foot and Mouth Disease) vaccine is coming. The government took the bill estimate from us. The National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) in India uses vaccines to control foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in livestock. The goal is to eradicate FMD by 2030. Now we are going from house to house in Kakapora village in Pulwama, J&K with the government’s FMD vaccine so that the animals are safe from foot and mouth diseases. People in Kakapora village are happy that govt officials are coming to their homes to administer vaccines to their animals which is free of cost. This is an initiative by the Government to save and care for the animal livestock. Previously they had to call the Veterinary doctor, but he was not turning up. Today, as soon as people call, a Veterinary doctor is present at their doorstep with the free FMD vaccine.
