Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha attended the Annual Day function of Jammu Sanskriti School, titled “Karmanya – The Power of Good Deeds”, at the General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University. He extended his congratulations to the school management, teachers, and students, acknowledging the significant contributions of past educators in shaping the school’s high reputation. The Lieutenant Governor emphasised that the primary objective of school education is to ignite the intellectual capacity of children. He remarked, “The future of a nation is decided in school campuses,” stressing the importance of providing every child with opportunities to cultivate their unique talents and contribute to nation-building. Education, he said, should empower students to innovate and make meaningful contributions to society. In light of rapid technological advancements, he noted that the most critical skill for the future will be the ability to engage in lifelong learning. He stated, “In today’s era of rapid change, when new technological advancements occur daily, only one skill will be relevant in the future – Lifelong Learning Skill.” He highlighted that primary and secondary education is a crucial phase in shaping a student’s life, where knowledge and influences have a lasting impact. “What a child learns during these formative years stays for a long time,” he emphasised, calling for the development of education that meets the needs of the modern world. On the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor presented seven resolutions for educational institutions across Jammu & Kashmir to strengthen the education system. These included making digital learning systems interactive, encouraging active student participation, focusing on one-to-one mentoring, providing field experiences outside the classroom, encouraging teachers to share life experiences, promoting project-based learning, and ensuring continuous teacher training. The Lieutenant Governor also urged the youth to embrace the ideals of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He highlighted that the National Education Policy 2020 presents a significant opportunity for students to explore new frontiers through independent thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. At the event, the Lieutenant Governor honoured students who excelled in academics and various fields. He also released the latest edition of the school’s magazine.
