SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 25: Minister for Health, Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, Sakeena Itoo, chaired a crucial meeting today at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of School Education to review preparations for the upcoming Rashtriya Sarvekshan-2024 (formerly National Achievement Survey), scheduled for December 4, 2024. The meeting was attended by key officials, including Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. Tasaduk Hussain Mir, Director SCERT J&K, Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas, and senior officers from various departments. Deputy Commissioners participated via video conference.
The Minister emphasized the significance of Rashtriya Sarvekshan as a vital tool for assessing the effectiveness of the education system and evaluating student learning outcomes. She stressed that the data gathered would help identify gaps in education and drive targeted improvements at the district, state, and national levels.
Sakeena Itoo called for a coordinated approach among all stakeholders to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of the survey across Jammu and Kashmir. She highlighted the importance of leveraging available resources effectively and ensuring that the survey is conducted with full transparency and integrity.
The Minister directed the Education Department and Deputy Commissioners to launch awareness campaigns to promote the survey’s significance and encourage community participation. She also urged for robust training programs at the district level to ensure the effective implementation of the survey and improve J&K’s national ranking.
In her review of the establishment of Resource Custody Centers, Sakeena Itoo instructed the Deputy Commissioners to oversee their setup, ensuring strict security measures, including CCTV surveillance. She also called for seamless coordination between the Education Department, District Administrations, and security agencies to ensure timely dispatch and delivery of survey materials, while addressing any potential challenges posed by weather conditions.
Rashtriya Sarvekshan-2024, organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, aims to provide structured feedback on student learning outcomes, which will serve as the basis for policy planning and educational reforms to improve quality and equity in learning across the country.
