Jammu & Kashmir to Hold Panchayat Elections Soon: LG Manoj Sinha

Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha visited the Jhiri Mela , paying obeisance to Baba Jitto at his Samadhi in Jhiri Village. Speaking to a large gathering of farmers and devotees, he emphasised that Baba Jitto’s sacrifice continues to inspire society to contribute to a stronger nation. He highlighted the cultural and spiritual significance of the Jhiri Mela, calling it a reminder of the sacrifices of farming families and their vital role in nurturing humanity. He also announced that Panchayat and Urban Local Body elections would be held soon, enhancing local governance and empowering communities. Addressing the crowd, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transforming the agriculture sector in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the importance of empowering farmers and providing equal opportunities for rural youth. Additionally, he reiterated his pledge to protect the rights of displaced families, refugees, tribals, and other marginalised communities. The Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha also felicitated progressive farmers and officials involved in organising the Mela. The event featured vibrant cultural performances, showcasing the rich art and traditions of the region, and underscored the unity and heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
