J&K police host Tiranga rally and events across the valley

The Jammu and Kashmir Police recently organised a series of impactful events across the Kashmir valley, emphasising their commitment to honouring the nation’s sovereignty and the sacrifices made by its heroes. These initiatives were part of the broader “Meri Mati Mera Desh” campaign, aimed at fostering patriotism and strengthening community bonds. In Anantnag, the celebration took the form of a grand Tiranga Bike Rally. This event, which saw the participation of the SSP Anantnag, Dr. G. V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, along with senior officers, police personnel, CRPF, and Army officials, was a vivid display of national pride. The rally began at the District Police Lines (DPL) Anantnag and journeyed through Bamzoo Mattan, culminating at Humayun Muzammil Degree College in Khanabal. The enthusiastic participation of local citizens, waving the national flag, contributed to a powerful manifestation of unity and patriotism. Similarly, in Handwara, the Tiranga Bike Rally, led by SSP Dawood Ayoub-KPS, highlighted the spirit of national pride. The event began in Handwara Town and concluded at DPL Handwara, where participants took a collective pledge to contribute to India’s development. This rally underscored the campaign’s goal of instilling a sense of national duty and honoring the contributions of the nation’s brave hearts. In Baramulla, the focus shifted to environmental and communal contributions with a plantation drive under the theme “Ek Paed Shaheedon Ke Naam”. This initiative, organized in collaboration with the Social Forestry Department’s JV Division, was led by SSP Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS. Officers, including SP Ops Baramulla and DySPs, participated alongside the Next of Kin (NOKs) of police martyrs. The drive aimed not only to pay tribute to the martyrs but also to contribute to the environment, reflecting a deep respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Ganderbal also saw significant activity, with Tiranga rallies organized in collaboration with civil administration and other security forces. SSP Ganderbal Sandeep Gupta-IPS flagged off a rally at Qamariya Stadium, which concluded at Mini Secretariat Ganderbal. In Sub-division Kangan, rallies commenced from the SDM Office Kangan to Govt. Degree College Kangan, with various dignitaries including SDM Kangan Bilal Mukhtar-JKAS and SDPO Kangan SP Muzaffar Jan-JKPS participating. Additionally, plantation drives were conducted at several schools, supervised by SDPO Kangan, involving police officers, martyrs’ NOKs, and school students. In Awantipora, a plantation drive was conducted in Tral, led by SSP Awantipora Ajaz Ahmed Zargar-JKPS. This event saw the active participation of civil administration officials and forest range officers, alongside the families of martyrs. Furthermore, the Awantipora Police, along with civil administration officers, visited various families of police martyrs, demonstrating a commitment to addressing their needs and concerns. Pulwama and Budgam also played crucial roles in these commemorative activities. SSP Pulwama PD Nitya-IPS, accompanied by DySP DAR and senior police officers, visited the families of fallen police personnel. Similarly, SSP Budgam Nikhil Borkar-IPS and district police officers engaged with the families of martyrs in Budgam, listening to their grievances and assuring them of timely redressal. These events collectively illustrate the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s dedication to honoring the sacrifices made by their personnel and fostering a sense of unity and patriotism among the populace. The range of activities—from rallies to plantation drives—demonstrates a multifaceted approach to remembrance and community engagement, reinforcing the bond between the police force and the communities they serve.
