Jammu & Kashmir LG Shri Manoj Sinha released the book Cultural Encyclopedia of the Dard Tribe by Dr. Suheel Rasool Mir at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar. This work delves into the remote landscapes, intricate cultural nuances, customs, language, and social structures of the Dard tribe. In his address,he congratulated Dr. Suheel Rasool Mir for his comprehensive exploration of the Dard tribe’s unique cultural heritage. He commended the efforts of Shinon Meeras – Shina Cultural Centre at Gurez and the Indian Army for their role in preserving the traditional wisdom, knowledge, heritage, and culture of the Dardi people for future generations. He also emphasised the vital role of the tribal community in nation-building and called for collective efforts to preserve and promote the rich customs, culture, and linguistic wealth of the tribal communities. Additionally, he released the second edition of The North Kashmir Gazette, a collaborative effort between the Kashmir Writers Association and the Indian Army.
