930 flats to get constructed in Srinagar’s Zewan for Kashmiri migrants in one year, said J&K LG

The lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha laid the foundation stone of 930 Transit accommodation flats for Kashmiri migrant employees in Zewan, Srinagar on January 20, 2023. This project is being laid under the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (DMRR & R). It is said to be accomplished in a year’s time. A large number of migrants are in Srinagar. The accommodation project is a G+5 structure with lift facilities. The flats are 1 bedroom units. Some authorities commented that this is a good step by the government for the Kashmiri Pandits and an effort to bring the ‘Kashmiriyat’ back. The person also stated that he would like to appeal to all those sitting on hartal in Jammu that they should come to Srnagar to see the steps being taken by the government to accommodate the Kashmiri migrants.
