The Amarnath Yatra 2022 had begun on June 30, 2022. It concluded on Raksha Bandhan day, August 11, 2022 with Chadi Mubarak puja, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha. The Pratham Puja was performed on June 14, 2022. Shri Amarnath ji darshan commenced on June 30, 2022. The Lieutenant Governor said that around 3.65 lakh RFID registered persons had done the shrine darshan. Compared to the last five yatras, the footfall in 2022 Shri Amarnath ji yatra had the highest numbers. The 2022 yatra saw a natural disaster in the form of a cloud burst in which several people lost their lives. And the yatra had to close for two-three days. However, due to the brave efforts of the teams of the Army, Security Forces and the Administration, Shrine Board and NDRF and SDRF involved in the yatra and the effort with which the people worked to restore the yatra on the third day is commendable, LG said. In a trip of 44 days of the 2022 yatra, the weather has been very bad for almost 20 days, LG stated. The toilets and the sanitation arrangements saw 240% increase compared to previous years. Bed and hospital facilities were increased by 190 percent. Two DRDO temporary hospitals were set up, one at Baltal and the other at Chandanwadi. Thus we could save many lives. Due to RFID tags we had a great help in tracking people, horses, etc. We had also installed a Traffic Assessment System so that we could take feedback from the Amarnath yatris. About 92-93 percent people praised the arrangements and facilities made available for them during the Shri Amarnath ji yatra. The Lieutenant Governor said that he was grateful to the officials of the Jammu & Kashmir administration, Shrine Board , the J&K Police, Army, Security Forces, and most of all the local residents for the success of the 2022 Shri Amarnath ji yatra.
