SRINAGAR, JANUARY 26: A series of functions were today held across Kashmir division with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour in connection with the celebration of 75th Republic-Day.
Republic Day marks the adoption of India’s constitution and the country’s transition to a Republic on January 26, 1950. Every year, the celebrations marking the day feature spectacular flag unfurling ceremonies, inspection of parade by the chief guest and cultural pageantry.
Meanwhile, unfurling of the National Flag was held amid impressive Parades and mega cultural events at all venues of functions organised at district, sub-division, tehsil and block levels across Kashmir Division.
At Baramulla, Amidst patriotic enthusiasm and fervor the 75th Republic Day function was today held at District Police Lines Baramulla where Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Baramulla, Safeena Beigh ceremoniously unfurled the National flag, inspected the Parade and took salute at the March Past.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa; SSP Baramulla, Amod Nagpure; DDC members, Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf; Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Zahoor Ahmad Raina; Officers of Army and Police, District and sectoral officers, heads of different departments besides a huge gathering of people participated in Republic Day celebrations.
The Parade comprised contingents from BSF, CRPF, J&K police, Sashastra Seema Bal, Home Guards, J&K Police Band, NCC cadets from Govt. Degree College Baramulla, Boys’ Higher Secondary Baramulla and various schools.
In her address to the gathering, the DDC Chairperson extended her Republic Day greetings to the people and expressed her gratitude to the visionary leaders instrumental in shaping our constitution and the brave freedom fighters and martyrs who sacrificed everything to uphold the nation’s freedom and democracy.
The Chairperson highlighted the district’s remarkable achievements across key sectors of development including education, healthcare, agriculture, women and youth empowerment, JJM, rural development, road connectivity, Social Welfare, and self-employment during her speech.
Safeena Beigh also expressed her heartiest gratitude to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, for his steadfast and unwavering support towards the holistic development of the district.
During the event, students from different schools and officials from the Department of Art, Culture, and Languages showcased a range of cultural programs highlighting the region’s rich cultural diversity and heritage.
The ceremony wrapped up with the distribution of prizes for the march past and cultural performances. Additionally, employees from various departments were honored for their outstanding contributions in public service.
Meanwhile, the 75th Republic day was today celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic zeal at DC Office Complex where Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa unfurled the tri-color and took the salute.
Similar Republic Day functions were also organized with enthusiasm and fervor at Sub-divisions Sopore, Pattan, Uri, Tangmarg and tehsil levels where the concerned authorities unfurled the tri-color.
At Anantnag, 75th Republic day was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm at GDC Boys Khanabal where Chairman District Development Council Anantnag, Mohammad Yousuf Gorsi unfurled the national flag and took salute at the parade.
The contingents from CRPF, J&K Police, IRP, J&K Home Guards, JK Police Band, Fire & Emergency, NCC and school children from various educational institutions took part in the march-past.
Addressing the gathering, the DDC Chairman said that the nation is paying rich tributes to the leaders, freedom fighters and martyrs who made countless sacrifices for the freedom of the country, glorifying their contributions as the result of their supreme efforts that we are living in a free country.
Gorsi highlighted the efforts besides achievements made by the district under various priority areas including education, healthcare, languishing, district capex, agriculture and allied sectors, women and youth empowerment, MGNREGA, JJM, water and electricity supply to Anganwadi Centers and schools, Rural development, macadamization and road connectivity, social welfare, Nasha Mukt Bharat, industries, self employment and creation of durable and sustainable assets.
He also highlighted various welfare schemes run by the government including Laadli Beti, Hunar Scheme and appealed to people to take benefit from such schemes.
Colorful cultural programs with patriotic themes were presented by students and local artists during the celebration. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes for the march-past and cultural achievements, as well as the felicitation of exemplary public service employees from various departments.
Notable attendees at the celebration included Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, ADC, ADDC, ACD, ACR, CPO, PDSJ, DIG SKR, SSP, DDC members,officers from Army, CRPF and other security forces and other officers and officials besides huge gathering of general public were present during the celebrations.
Earlier, Republic Day ceremony took place at DC Office Complex Anantnag where the National Flag was unfurled by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, SF.Hamid.
Flag hoisting ceremonies were also held at Sub Divisional Headquarters and Tehsil Headquarters of District Anantnag.
At Budgam, the 75th Republic Day functions were today held with much fanfare and enthusiasm across the District Budgam.
The main function was held at Sports Stadium Budgam, where Chairman, District Development Council (DDC), Budgam, Nazir Ahmad Khan unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the march-past.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman paid glowing tributes to all freedom fighters for their selfless sacrifices for freedom of the country.
Chairman also deliberated upon the ongoing development scenario of the district and said that the district Budgam is touching new heights with active participation of people in government initiatives.
He highlighted the Hon’ble LG Administration’s special focus on Budgam for ensuring sustainable development in the district.
The Chairman also focused on the active and positive role of District Administration Budgam under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner, Akshay Labroo for tireless efforts in ensuring speedy completion of infrastructure projects across the district.
He said not only a long pending demand of establishment of State of the Art District Hospital Budgam has become a reality but also long pending under construction PHCs at Pahroo, Gundipora, Mazhama, Kanira, Choon and other health centres were also completed in short span of time and dedicated to general public.
He also appreciated the District Administration for its tremendous work under the R&B sector for black topping a network of road connectivity across all far flung areas of the district.
He also highlighted ongoing developmental works under Education, Jal Shakti, KPDCL and successful implementation of public welfare schemes in Budgam.
The march- past was presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Home Guard and School Children.
On the occasion, various artists and school children presented various colourful cultural programs including Rouf, patriotic songs, Band Pather, Bangda, enthralling the audience, present there.
The prize distribution ceremony was also held wherein various officers and officials from different departments were awarded for their meritorious work.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Akshay Labroo, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, SSP Budgam, Al Tahir Gillani, Vice-Chairman DDC, Nazir Ahmad Jahra and other senior officers from Civil, Police and Paramilitary departments participated in the program.
The Republic Day functions were also held at Sub Divisional, Block and Tehsil level across the district Budgam.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Akshay Labroo also unfurled the National Flag at DC Office Complex and DC residence and extended his Republic Day greetings to all.
At Ganderbal, the District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq today unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the 75th Republic Day function being celebrated at Qamaria Stadium, Ganderbal.
In her address, while congratulating the people of Ganderbal, the DDC Chairperson highlighted the importance of the Republic Day celebration and recalled the sacrifices of great freedom fighters.
She also spoke about various developmental achievements registered by district administration in different sectors in the district besides implementation of welfare schemes during current fiscal.
Highlighting the developmental activities in the district, she said that a new era of development has begun in Jammu and Kashmir as well as in Ganderbal district and new paths are being paved for all-round development.
The priorities of the administration include ensuring people’s safety, providing all facilities, women’s empowerment, improving public health, and exploring new avenues for social welfare. Although a lot has been done in this regard, much more remains to be done, she added.
The function concluded with distribution of prizes among students and contingents who participated in March past and cultural programs. Several officers/officials were also felicitated who did remarkable work at various levels in the district.

At Pulwama, the 75th Republic Day celebrations at the District Police Lines in Pulwama reverberated with patriotic fervor and community spirit as distinguished guests, officials, and citizens came together to commemorate the occasion.

In a symbolic gesture of solidarity and determination, the Republic Day celebrations witnessed the flagging-off of a spirited bike rally from the District Police lines, signifying the onward march towards a brighter future filled with hope, unity, and prosperity.
Furthermore, similar programs were held across the district at the Subdivision and Tehsil levels, as well as in government institutions. A significant program unfolded at DPL Awantipora, where ADC Awantipora, Zaffar Hussain Shawl hoisted the National Flag, echoing the sentiments of unity and patriotism prevalent throughout Pulwama.
At Kulgam, 75th Republic day was today celebrated across District Kulgam with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour with the main function held at District Police Lines Kulgam.
The Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Kulgam, Mohammad Afzal Parrey who was chief guest on the occasion unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the March past presented by the contingents of CRPF, JKP, JKP ladies police group, Home guard, NCC cadets, students etc.
Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan; DDC VC, Shazia Jan; SSP, Sahil Sarangal; DDC members besides officers from civil and police administration and people in large numbers participated in the programme.

Meanwhile Flag unfurling was also carried out at mini-secretariat Kulgam, where the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan unfurled the National Flag.
Similar function was held at Sub Division D.H.Pora where SDM Bashir Ul Hassan unfurled the National flag.
Flag unfurling functions were also held at Tehsil, Block headquarters, MCs, schools, colleges, panchayats, Police Stations and other institutions.
In Kupwara, the 75th Republic Day was celebrated today across the frontier district Kupwara with great enthusiasm and fervour.
The main function was held at District Police Lines Kupwara where Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade and took salute at march-past presented by contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, IRP, Home Guards, FPF, Special Commandos, Police Band, and school children.
Besides, in a scintillating spectacle, Tableaus (Jankis) were also presented by different departments during the parade which showcased achievements and welfare Schemes.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan; SSP Kupwara, Yougal Manhas; ADDC Kupwara, Altaf Ahmad Khan, ADC Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat; DDC Members, Police Officers, Army Officers and District officers, officials of all departments, people from different areas, besides students from different educational institutions were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson highlighted the significance of the day. He appealed to people to work together for promoting national integration, communal harmony and peace in the district. He highlighted various measures taken by the LG administration and District Administration for the overall development of the district.
In his address, the Chairman, while appreciating District Administration said that district has recorded appreciable achievements on the socio economic and developmental fronts under the leadership of District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan.
He said Kupwara district has vast potential of tourism and the administration is on toes to tap the potential and explore the tourist destinations of the district.
Earlier, the Chairman DDC, DC Kupwara, and SSP Kupwara laid floral wreaths on the Martyrs Memorial.
A variety of cultural programmes were presented by the school children and local artists during the function. Later, an award ceremony was held during which awards were given to the best performers in the March Past, Tableaus and cultural programmes. Awards were also given to various Officers and officials of the administration for their good work.
The Republic day functions were also held at Handwara, Lolab and Karnah sub-divisions,
At Handwara ADC Nazir Ahamed Mir unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade and took salute at the March past. Cultural programmes were also presented by the school children and awards were given to the achievers. At Karnah and Lolab SDMs concerned unfurled the flag and took salute at the March Past.
Republic Day Celebrations were also held at all MCs of the district. Besides all educational institutions, Government offices and Panchayats celebrated the Republic Day across the district.
At Shopian, the District Development Council (DDC), Chairperson, Shopian, Bilqees Jan unfurled the tricolor at District Police Lines, Shopian today, inspected the parade and took salute at the March-past comprised of CRPF, JK Police, IRP, Home Guards, NCC Cadets and students from different schools.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb (Guest of Honour); VC DDC Council, Irfan Manhas; SSP, Shopian, Tanushree; CO, CRPF DDC Members, ADDC, ADC, Shopian, officers and officials of civil administration, police and CAPF were also present on the occasion.
Besides, a large number of people participated in the Republic day celebration programme.
Addressing the gathering, the DDC Chairperson congratulated the people on the eve of Republic day. She said it is because of the great values of the constitution, a new era of development has ushered in district Shopian and highlighted the importance of the day.
She mentioned the achievements registered in the district as the current financial year witnessed major developmental activities in the district.
Chairperson DDC said that the current financial year has been a year of achievements for the district as Shopian received an Award for One District One Product (ODOP) and is due to the best efforts of district administration.
She commended and appreciated the officers of the district for working tirelessly under the dynamic leadership of Deputy Commissioner Shopian.
She appealed to the people of the district to extend their helping hands to the administration against the menace of drugs for its eradication.
Meanwhile, a variety of colorful cultural programmes and skits on patriotic themes were presented by students from various Educational institutions that enthralled the audience.
Later, prize distribution was organised in which officers, officials, academicians, sports persons and Police personnel were felicitated.
DC earlier unfurled the National Flag at Mini-Secretariat Shopian.
Similar programmes were also held across the district at Sub-Divisional level in Zainapora and wherein chief guest unfurled the national flag and took salute on the march past.
Tricolour was also unfurled in all government offices, Panchayat Ghars and Municipal Buildings.
At Bandipora, to celebrate 75th Republic Day, grand functions were held today across the district with the main function held at S. K Stadium Bandipora.
Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Bandipora, Abdul Gani Bhat unfurled the National flag and took salute at the march past presented by contingents of CRPF, JKP, JKIRP, JK Fire and Emergency, SPOs, JK Home Gaurd, NCC besides students of various schools and JKP Band Group.
The Chairperson DDC was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shakeel Ul Rehman Rather and SSP Bandipora Lakshay Sharma.
ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, ASP Bandipora Sandeep Bhat, ADC Bandipora Umar Shafi, Padmashree Faisal Ali Dar, DDC Members, ACR Shabir Wani, senior officers from civil administration, Judiciary, police, Army and para military and large gathering of public from all walks of life attended the event at S.K Stadium.
The program witnessed presentation of various cultural events and patriotic songs depicting India’s vibrant cultural, economic and social progress.
Chairperson DDC Abdul Gani Bhat, in his speech, congratulated the participants and highlighted the historical background of Republic Day Celebrations. The chairperson also highlighted the developmental aspects of the country on various fronts.
He appreciated the efforts of district administration for maintaining close coordination with elected representatives, which enabled the district to achieve huge progress in developmental projects, saturation of beneficiary oriented schemes, employment generation schemes and various other sectors.
The Chairperson, while praising the land of Alim Adab and Aab, said that Bandipora is successfully proving its mettle in various spheres of Governance and Development.
He lauded the efforts of district administration for reaching out in every block in the district by regularly conducting block diwas and public outreach programmes and listening to the public at their doorsteps.
Subsequently, the felicitation ceremony was held wherein officers and officials of various civil and other departments were felicitated for their outstanding public service delivery.
The R-Day Celebrations were also held across the district, including Mini Secretariat, Sub Division Gurez, Sub Division Sumbal, Block Level, Panchayat Level besides schools and colleges of the District.
Earlier in the morning, at Mini Secretariat and Camp Office, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shakeel Ul Rehman unfurled the national flag amidst participation of employees of various departments working in Mini-Secretariat Bandipora.
