5 Key MSME Trends To Watch In Jammu And Kashmir This Year

5 Key MSME Trends To Watch In Jammu And Kashmir This Year. I am very happy to be a part of this conclave focused on the development of the MSME sector, , said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha addressing the Indian Chamber of Commerce’s MSME Conclave 2025. All the participants in this conclave play an important role in shaping our economy, LG Manoj Sinha added. I am happy that the Jammu Kashmir Industries & Commerce Department is associated with this conclave. It also reflects the commitment and determination of the Jammu and Kashmir administration to take the development of MSME to a new level. A development that is inclusive and also environmentally sustainable. And it is focused on the needs of the entrepreneurs. In the last 10 years, there has been a revolution in the MSME sector under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which the economic landscape of India has completely transformed. Especially after Covid, the growth of MSME has been largely blocked all over the world. In India too, MSMEs had exported a total of 3.95 lakh crores. I have been observing in the last four years that due to the determination of the entrepreneurs of the MSME sector, support of the banking sectors and hard work of the stakeholders, the entire scenario has changed. In 2024-25, the export by MSME has increased above 13 lakh crores. This sector has once again proved that MSMEs initiatives play an important role in boosting India’s economy and strengthening global trade. In the last five years, 6142 micro enterprises have been converted into medium enterprises. And around 43840 small enterprises have scaled up as medium enterprises. MSMEs will have to focus specifically on technology adoption. These figures show that along with opportunities, a new kind of competition for progress and change is a good thing for the Indian economy; it is a good sign; it has begun. I believe that this figure is a proof of the growing market of MSME as well as the fact that the belief and confidence in the potential of global players in India have both grown in the last ten years. MSMEs have a dual responsibility, LG stated. First of all, special focus has to be given on technology adoption for global competition. And innovation will also need to be encouraged. The second thing I understand is that we need to pay more attention to management and skills as well. Secondly, I think we will have to pay more attention to management and skill so that technology upgradation and innovation culture can be properly used for the growth of MSME. An industry-friendly environment is developing which will be able to compete comfortably with developed countries in the days to come. There are more than 6 crore 30 lakh MSMs operational today. And around 25 crore people have got employment due to this. If we look at the entire manufacturing sector, 39% of the skilled population has got employment in this sector, LG shared. We have to bring major changes in agriculture and horticulture as well, as 70% of the population is associated with agriculture and allied sectors. To understand how enterprises can be set up there, a Holistic Agriculture Development Plan was prepared in Jammu and Kashmir by well-known agricultural experts of the country, which has a big impact on the lives of farmers. One of its targets was to double the GDP of agriculture and allied sectors of Jammu and Kashmir in five years. Only with the progress of MSME can Jammu and Kashmir and the country progress. How can MSMEs move ahead in the leather sector, electric equipment, etc. in the domestic market? We also need to focus on this so that local demand can be met. The Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha concluded his address by extending his warm wishes to everyone for the positive discussions in the conclave and hoped that this activity will continue in the days to come.
