Kashmir ,26 September ,2025- The 3rd Junior Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2025 commenced today at the Sher‑i‑Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex in Srinagar, bringing together talented young athletes from across Asia. The opening ceremony featured the unveiling of the championship mascot, symbolising the spirit of competition, discipline, and camaraderie. Local dignitaries, sports officials, and participants attended the event, which also included cultural performances and highlighted the role of sports in youth empowerment and regional cooperation.
Scheduled to run from September 25 to September 30, the championship features multiple weight categories and competitions in both tanding (sparring) and seni (artistic) disciplines of Pencak Silat. Athletes from various Asian countries are set to compete, showcasing their technical skills and sportsmanship. Hosting this major continental event is expected to boost Jammu & Kashmir’s sporting profile, encourage youth participation, and inspire the development of local martial arts infrastructure. Spectators can look forward to medal contests, emerging talent from less represented nations, and vibrant cultural exchanges among participants.
