3rd Chinar Book Festival 2026 to be held at SKICC Srinagar from July 18–26

Srinagar, July 16: The 3rd Chinar Book Festival 2026 is set to take place at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Srinagar, from July 18 to July 26, bringing together readers, authors, publishers, and literary enthusiasts from across the country.

Organised by the National Book Trust (NBT), India, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the nine-day literary festival will feature more than 200 publishers, showcasing an extensive collection of books across multiple languages and genres. Visitors will have access to a wide range of publications, including literature, fiction, non-fiction, academic works, children’s books, and regional titles.

The festival will also host a series of literary events, book discussions, author interactions, cultural programmes, storytelling sessions, and educational activities, providing a vibrant platform for intellectual exchange and creative engagement.

The Chinar Book Festival aims to foster a reading culture, encourage knowledge sharing, and strengthen literary and cultural ties in Jammu and Kashmir. It is expected to attract students, educators, writers, researchers, and book lovers, offering them an opportunity to interact with leading publishers and renowned authors.

The event underscores the National Book Trust’s commitment to promoting books and reading while celebrating India’s rich linguistic and cultural diversity.
