Udhampur, July 20,2026- Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Minga Sherpa, chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) under Mission YUVA, during which 357 cases were approved for financial assistance to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment among the district’s youth.
The approved cases will enable aspiring entrepreneurs to establish new ventures and expand existing businesses, providing a significant boost to employment generation and economic development in the district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of the Mission YUVA initiative and directed all concerned departments to expedite the processing of applications to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive financial assistance without unnecessary delays.
Emphasising the importance of effective implementation, Minga Sherpa instructed officials to provide proper guidance and handholding support to applicants throughout the process. He also called for improved scrutiny of applications, timely disbursement of financial assistance, and stronger coordination with banks and financial institutions to facilitate seamless credit support for beneficiaries.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed that coordinated efforts among departments and financial institutions are essential for achieving the objectives of Mission YUVA, which aims to encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihood opportunities for young people across Jammu & Kashmir.
The meeting reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to creating an enabling ecosystem for startups, micro-enterprises, and self-employment, empowering youth to become job creators and contribute to the region’s economic growth.
