Jammu , July 24, 2025 – The 22nd batch of pilgrims undertaking the annual Amarnath Yatra left Jammu early Thursday morning for the Kashmir Valley, en route to the revered Amarnath Cave Shrine. A total of 3,500 pilgrims set off under tight security arrangements from the Yatri Niwas base camp in Bhagwati Nagar, marking another significant milestone in this year’s spiritual journey.
Officials from the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) confirmed that the convoy, comprising buses and smaller vehicles, began its journey towards the twin base camps at Baltal and Pahalgam, the two main routes leading to the 13,000-foot-high Himalayan shrine.
Authorities have made comprehensive arrangements to ensure the safety and convenience of the yatris, including round-the-clock medical facilities, food supplies, sanitation, and road security. Security personnel from the CRPF, J&K Police, and other paramilitary forces are escorting the pilgrims throughout their route.
Despite intermittent weather concerns, this year’s Amarnath Yatra 2025 has seen a strong turnout, with thousands of devotees arriving from across the country to pay homage to Lord Shiva at the sacred ice lingam inside the cave.
The Amarnath Yatra is one of the most significant Hindu pilgrimages and holds deep religious importance. The pilgrimage is expected to conclude on Shravan Purnima, which falls in August.
