20th Pingla Mata Akhand Jyoti Shanti Yatra begins in Udhampur with grand religious fervour

Udhampur, July 16,2026 The 20th Annual Pingla Mata Akhand Jyoti Shanti Yatra commenced with great religious fervour from the historic Pandav Mandir in Udhampur, marking the beginning of one of the region’s significant spiritual pilgrimages. The sacred Chhari Yatra was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai Ming Sherpa, in the presence of devotees, religious leaders, and district officials.

Thousands of devotees from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir and neighbouring states participated in the pilgrimage, embarking on the sacred journey to the revered Maa Pingla Devi Shrine in Ramnagar. The atmosphere resonated with devotional chants, bhajans, and traditional rituals as pilgrims carried the holy Chhari with deep faith and devotion.

The yatra witnessed vibrant cultural and religious celebrations, with devotees offering prayers for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of humanity. Religious ceremonies were performed before the ceremonial flag-off, symbolising the spiritual significance of the annual pilgrimage.

The district administration made elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the yatra. Security personnel, healthcare teams, sanitation workers, and volunteers were deployed along the route to facilitate the movement of pilgrims and provide essential services throughout the journey.

Addressing the gathering, officials highlighted the importance of preserving the region’s rich religious and cultural heritage while ensuring that devotees undertake the pilgrimage in a safe and comfortable environment. The administration reiterated its commitment to providing all necessary facilities for the successful conduct of the annual yatra.
