2 Kanal to 6 Kanal: Sweet Farming Win 💰 I am cultivating strawberries through the Horticulture Department.I had started with 2 Kanal area now I am doing in 6 Kanal areas, said a strawberry farmer from Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir. When we started this, the ladies of our clan also get some employment. Also, our whole family depends on it. Earlier, we used to do agriculture farming but it did not give us much profit.The most happy thing is that the Department of Horticulture also provides subsidy in this. It provides a subsidy of Rs 13,000 per canal, which is a great help. Five years ago, when I started my strawberry farming journey people used to discourage saying your land will get wasted. But with the success I got in the first and second year of strawberry farming made me happy. Our Panchayat gave 25 Kanal for strawberry farming. As we are associated with the Department, it provides us 50% subsidy in machinery. It was difficult for us to spend one or one-and-a-half lakh rupees in machinery. We are very grateful that the government is taking initiatives and the concerned departments are working well to help the farmers, said the strawberry farmer from Udhampur, J&K.
