Jammu, July 15:Amid tight security and spiritual fervor, the 14th batch of 6,388 pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu early Monday morning for the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine in south Kashmir.
According to officials, the convoy comprising 233 vehicles was escorted by CRPF and J&K Police personnel to ensure the safety of the yatris. Out of the total, 4,215 pilgrims opted for the Pahalgam route, while 2,173 chose the Baltal route.
The ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025, which commenced on June 29, has so far seen lakhs of devotees from across India braving the challenging terrain to seek the blessings of Baba Barfani – the naturally formed ice lingam of Lord Shiva.
A senior official at the camp said: “We are committed to ensuring a smooth, safe and spiritual experience for every pilgrim. All medical, logistical, and sanitation arrangements are functioning efficiently.”
The pilgrimage, which will conclude on August 19, is being monitored round-the-clock through geo-fencing, drone surveillance, and an integrated command control center set up by the Jammu and Kashmir administration.
Devotees expressed immense joy and peace before embarking on the journey. “It’s a dream come true to receive Baba’s darshan. We’re thankful to the administration and security forces,” said Rajni Gupta, a pilgrim from Delhi.
